Our quality standards are particularly suitable for qualitative research in general and quantitative research that is particularly demanding in terms of the way it is carried out and/or the profiles to be interviewed. These services can be complemented by the provision of our complete infrastructure of discussion rooms, observation rooms and interpreters at our own facilities in Zurich, at the pre-equipped facilities of our partners or at other facilities for which a mobile monitoring infrastructure (recording, retransmission, interpreting equipment) can be set up.

One of our strengths is flexibility: we don't have standardised offers, but provide our services à la carte, taking into account the specific design of each study as well as the individual needs of each market research institute/company's market research department and their own clients. In this way, we strive to continually adapt our services to meet any new expectations.

Our standard 2-phase recruitment method:

FIRST PHASE


A version of the recruitment questionnaire is programmed online and can be completed by candidates for the current study, with a complete questionnaire for each candidate, without interruption for non-eligibility.

 Prevents candidates from self-selecting on the basis of the path taken in the questionnaire
 Enables us to propose alternatives from among all the candidates if the profile we are looking for is too rare/insufficient in number
 Possibility of inserting product illustrations / brand logos to avoid confusion
 Enables our agents to concentrate on the desired profiles and to invest their time and energy in ensuring during the 2nd phase the selection of participants who meet the requirements of the study in progress

SECOND PHASE


Candidates who are eligible according to the answers given in the online questionnaire are screened again over the telephone directly by our agents.

 Checking that the answers have been given in accordance with the meaning of the question / the choice of answers, taking account of all the relevant factors
 Interview to assess the candidate's motivation, ability to express their ideas and knowledge of the language being studied
 Multiple sources for approaching potential candidates for consumers (B2C) to allow a varied composition of the sample among the desired profiles.

 Street recruitment. This method is subject to authorisation (sometimes a fee + application accompanied by an administrative file) in many Swiss towns and is often limited to a few specific locations. In general, this method is ill-suited to the availability of potential candidates, restricts the variety of profiles, and runs a high risk of only attracting a limited number of passers-by and/or of only reaching a certain population.

 Cold calls (=without prior written notice). This method is increasingly perceived as intrusive, leading to spontaneous refusals without even being able to explain the purpose of the call. Involves a significant investment of time and energy, often with little result. Calls are often filtered, denying access to a potentially interesting profile.

MAKING APPOINTMENTS AND MONITORING CANDIDATES (B2C & B2B)


An appointment is made by our agents with the people recruited (or pre-recruited by the client or another agency).

In order to optimise attendance and participation in the study, the following support measures are part of our standard offer:

 Sending a written confirmation of participation with all the relevant information about taking part in the study (information specific to the current study, such as an appointment, map to the studio / access link for online study, methodology, etc. as well as general information about data protection)
 Follow-up in the event of preparatory work / login check for online studies
 Reminder approx. 1 working day before the event (or the start of the interview phase) to those invited, confirming their availability to take part
 Replacement as far as possible (both in terms of time and the eligible profiles available) of people who have withdrawn or been prevented from taking part
 Sms notice on the day of the event (respectively the 1st day of the interview phase) containing a summary of key information (address, no. in case of absence/late arrival, etc.)


RECRUITMENT BUDGET


The budget for recruiting people (B2C & B2B) is based either on an incidence (estimated or based on existing data), or on an estimated number of candidates needed to be contacted to complete a recruitment.

If the budget set at the time of the offer/commission proves insufficient during the recruitment process to find either a sufficient number of candidates in general, or a sufficient number of candidates who match the desired profile(s) exactly, it is then possible to select from among all the candidates those who most closely match the desired profile, or to increase the recruitment effort by lowering the initial impact/increasing the number of contacts required, taking into account the additional costs involved but also the time available.

The availability of the people you wish to include in a study can naturally influence recruitment costs:

 the times at which the interviews or group discussions are to take place (most private individuals are persuaded to participate with an evening appointment between Mondays and Thursdays)
 a wide choice of possible appointments (throughout the day and evening, over several days, etc.)
 the chosen field period (school holidays, holiday periods or certain major events, etc.

Renting the Yxplora studio in Zurich


You can hire our studio/room for group discussions or individual interviews for your projects.


Located close to Stauffacher and next to the Bezirkgegäude, our solution offers a cost-effective alternative in a pleasant setting with service so that you and your clients can feel at ease and concentrate on the essentials.


The standard infrastructure [with or without CCTV (→ no two-way mirror*) at your disposal consists of 3 rooms:
1 discussion room (22 m2) for max. 12 people, incl. 50' (125cm) plasma screen, Metaplan-board, Metaplan box, Flip-Charts, DVD/Blue-Ray player/multimedia file, WiFi/Ethernet. Air conditioning.
1 observation room (19 m2) for max. 4-6 people, incl. 65' (165cm) LED screen, technical equipment for Full HD 1080p video transmission (CCTV) and recording, WiFi/Ethernet. Air-conditioning.
1 interview/interpreter room, incl. 30' (75cm) monitor. Not air-conditioned. Can also be used as a second observation room.

As part of the rental of our studio/meeting rooms, we also offer the following services:
Drinks and snacks for participants
Catering for clients + research team
Audio and video files of discussions and interviews
Reception of participants, distribution of incentives, collection of forms such as confidentiality agreements, data protection, etc.
Organising interpreters for simultaneous translation
Video streaming of discussions and interviews (with 2nd channel for simultaneous translation).


We have fridges, freezers and a small kitchen equipped with ovens (traditional, steamer, microwave), hotplates and dishwashers for preserving and preparing food to be enjoyed on site.

Alternative layout:
Possibility of modifying the discussion room into a room with a maximum of 8 individual and separate spaces for individual self-administered questionnaires, class interviews and/or sensory analysis tests for example.


We can organise a studio with a one-way mirror with our partners if required.
